Our school entry bell rings at 8:40 a.m. Students should arrive and go to the playground anytime after 8:25 a.m. Students who arrive at the school earlier than 8:5 a.m. are still the responsibility of the parent(s)/guardian(s) unless they are attending a supervised morning club/practice or Breakfast Club. Students do not have access to the building until school supervision begins at 8:25 a.m. Students must leave school property immediately after school at 3:00 p.m. unless staying for a school-sponsored event (e.g., an after school club or participating in a sporting event). Students watching after school sporting events must be supervised by a Parent /Guardian or an adult over 18. Siblings of those on the team are allowed to stay and watch with a Parent or Guardian over 18.

School Insurance

We’re pleased to share an optional but valuable resource for families: the InsureMyKids Protection Plan, offered by Old Republic Insurance Company of Canada. This affordable student accident insurance provides 24/7 coverage for your child - at school, at home, on weekends, and even during vacations. Plans start at just $17 per year, with multiple coverage levels to suit your family’s needs. Coverage is available for children from 6 months to 26 years old (must be full-time students if 14+) and begins immediately upon registration. To learn more or enroll, visit www.insuremykids.com or call 1-800-463-5437.

Please note: DSBN shares the InsureMyKids Protection Plan as an optional resource for families who may wish to purchase student accident insurance. There is no financial or non-financial relationship between DSBN and Old Republic Insurance Company of Canada, and neither the Board nor staff receive any incentives, commissions, or benefits related to the distribution or endorsement of this plan. Our intent is to provide families with information about available options for their convenience.

Lost and Found

Are your children missing things? Due to the enormous amount of clothing, shoes, boots and other items, Lost and Found will be placed outside at the front of the school for the first 3 days next week (May 11-13). Please tell your students to check if you think they have lost anything. On the Thursday & Friday (May 14-15) everything left will be, FREE, first come first serve. We cannot store clothing for months, we do not have the space. Kindly label your child clothing and let them know not to leave it in the playground.

Late -are you Late

Please be aware that due to the change in our Late Slip Process when you bring your student late there may be a lineup and wait for the late slip printer. All parents of kinder students must wait in line with their student until handed to a staff member who will run them to class. Please try to be at the school gates for the bell at 8:40 to avoid these lineups.

Please be kind and safe and do not park in the Bus Zone on Pleasant Ave! Please do not park in the handicap spots unless you have a permit. Please use the drop off/pick up Zone on Dufferin St. as a safe alternative! Thank you!

Breakfast Club is now open to any student. Open between 8:20 am & 8:40 am. Come and have breakfast with your friends.
